After cutting the Celotex insulation to size it was stuck to the polycarbonate roof panels with No Nails
Then battens were screwed into the aluminium roof joists through the plastic capping over the insulation using these screws...
Chrome tape was used to make a thermal seal between the joints of the insulating panels and then the plaster boards were screwed to the battens.

They can now watch the television without having to wear sun glasses and the sound turned up.

ReplyDeleteLiving at the end of a runway a polycarbonate roof is useless for sound insulation,it also gets very hot in the summer and the rain beating down makes so much noise the TV sound has to be turned up.Granted blinds can be installed to prevent glare but don't do much for sound insulation.
ReplyDeleteRight on point, Dave! Well, if you want to make your home soundproof in the most affordable way and probably the cheapest, you can collect egg crates and staple it at your ceiling or on the wall. This way, the sound outside your house will be muffled before it enters your home.
